Mike Bonomo
President
Mike is the President of the Kansas City Young Republicans. He graduated
from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and has extensive
political experience ranging from local grass-roots campaigns to leadership offices on
Capitol Hill. Currently, Mike works in the securities industry for a major brokerage firm. An avid golfer and baseball enthusiast, he and his wife Erin live in Kansas City, Missouri.

David Vratny
Treasurer

David is the Treasurer of the Kansas City Young Republicans as well as Treasurer of the Missouri Young Republicans. He has had a life-long interest in history and politics and is a self-proclaimed information junkie. The first campaign David remembers being involved with is in 1984 stumping for Ronald Reagan at his Elementary School (the results of which a Reagan/Bush landslide in his 2nd Grade class mock election). He has been a proud supporter of Republican candidates and values ever since.

David holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Truman State University and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from University of Missouri at Kansas City. He has been working in the field of local government for the last nine years and is currently a Management and Budget Analyst for Johnson County, Kansas Government.

Samantha Horner
Communications Director
Samantha is the Vice President of Communications of the Kansas City Young Republicans. Samantha is also the Midwest Regional Director of the Young Republican Federation (YRNF) covering Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. Samantha graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in Journalism and a B.A. in Political Science in 2005. At KU, Samantha was Vice President of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and was involved in several on-campus activities including KU College Republicans, CampFire USA and The United Way.

Samantha was also a member of the KUJH News Team, where worked as an anchor/reporter for the student-ran news channel. In an attempt to help defeat the Democratic incumbent since 1999, Dennis Moore, Samantha also volunteered on Kris Kobach's 3rd Congressional District of Kansas campaign. Samantha's ultimate goal is to run for this seat by 2022.

Katie McBreen
Membership Director

Katie is the fundraising VP for the KCYRs. While receiving her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado – Boulder,
Katie served as a legislative aide in the Colorado General Assembly. In 2005, she spent her fall semester interning in U.S. Senator Wayne Allard’s Washington, DC office.
In the summer of 2006, Katie made the move to D.C. to begin her fundraising career with the National Republican Senatorial Committee overseeing efforts for the Committee’s
Republican Presidential Roundtable.

Shortly after announcing his bid for President in early 2007, Katie joined Governor Mitt Romney’s campaign staff in Boston, MA. Following the conclusion of Gov. Romney's bid in 2008, Katie made the move to the Kansas City area to serve as the Finance Director for State Senator Nick Jordan’s U.S. Congressional race. Katie is currently the Finance Director for Rep. Jerry Moran’s 2010 U.S. Senate race. |

Andy Fray
Secretary
Andy is the Secretary for the KCYRs. Currently an underwriter for Chubb Insurance Companies, Andy has been an active member in the KCYRs for several years.
Andy graduated from the University of Kansas in 2001 from the School of Business. While at KU, Andy penned several Op/Ed pieces for the campus newspaper, The University Daily Kansan.

Andy has been an active volunteer in many national and local races including George W. Bush's 2004 campaign, Jim Talent's 2008 campaign, and most recently, Rep. Jerry Moran's 2010 Senatorial Campaign. Andy enjoys spending time with friends and family.
